What are mica gasket sheets

Mica gasket sheets are high-temperature sealing materials made from natural or synthetic mica combined with binders or metal reinforcement. These sheets are specifically designed to maintain sealing performance under extreme thermal conditions.

Mica gasket material is non-combustible and dimensionally stable at high temperatures, making mica gasket sheets suitable for applications where conventional rubber or fiber materials would fail.

When to use mica gasket material

Mica gasket material is used when sealing applications involve very high temperatures, thermal cycling or exposure to hot gases. It is commonly selected for systems where heat resistance is more critical than elasticity.

Mica gasket sheets are often applied in environments where fire safety, thermal insulation or resistance to heat-induced degradation is required.

Applications of mica gasket sheets

Mica gasket sheets are used in exhaust systems, furnaces, boilers, heat shields and high-temperature flange connections. They are common in power generation, petrochemical processing and heavy industrial equipment.

Mica gasket material can be supplied as plain sheets or with metal reinforcement and can be cut into custom gasket shapes for static sealing applications exposed to extreme heat.

Mica gasket sheets specifications

Material type: Mica-based gasket (phlogopite or muscovite)
Operating pressure: suitable for medium to high pressure systems
Temperature range: up to +900 °C (depending on mica type and reinforcement)
Mechanical stability: excellent at elevated temperatures
Sealing performance: reliable under extreme thermal conditions

Mica gaskets are designed for high-temperature sealing applications where conventional fibre, PTFE or graphite gaskets are no longer suitable. They are commonly used in exhaust systems, boilers and industrial flanges exposed to extreme heat.

Custom production

In addition to standard Mica gasket sheets, we can CNC cut custom shapes and dimensions to your drawing. Suitable for prototypes, small series and repeat production.
