What are nitrile rubber gaskets

Nitrile rubber gaskets are industrial sealing components manufactured from NBR (nitrile butadiene rubber). They are specifically designed for applications where resistance to oils, fuels and lubricants is required.

Nitrile rubber gaskets provide reliable sealing performance in systems exposed to hydrocarbons, making them a common choice in industrial and mechanical installations.

When do you need NBR gaskets

NBR gaskets are used when sealing applications involve contact with oil, fuel or grease and where moderate temperatures and pressures are present. They offer a good balance between mechanical strength and chemical resistance.

These gaskets are typically selected for environments where weather resistance or UV exposure is not the primary concern.

Applications of nitrile rubber gaskets

Nitrile rubber gaskets are applied in flanges, pumps, compressors and sealing interfaces within hydraulic systems, engines and fuel installations. They are widely used in industrial maintenance and equipment manufacturing.

Depending on the application, NBR gaskets can be supplied in standard gasket formats or produced in custom shapes to match specific sealing requirements.

Nitrile rubber gaskets (NBR) specifications

Hardness: 50–90 Shore A
Density: 1.00–1.35 g/cm³
Tensile Strength: 8–16 MPa
Elongation at Break: 150–400 %
Temperature Range: −30 °C to +110 °C
Resistance: oil, fuel, grease

Nitrile rubber has excellent resistance to oil, fuel and grease, but limited resistance to UV, ozone and weathering.

Custom production

In addition to standard Nitrile rubber gaskets (NBR), we can CNC cut custom shapes and dimensions to your drawing. Suitable for prototypes, small series and repeat production.
